Guangzhou Day 4 & 5

It's finally my last post on Guangzhou! Are y'all relived?! Hahaha. I'm so relived! I can start on my normal everyday posts now. :))) Combined both day 4 and 5 into 1 post because we didn't take much photos on day 5.

Ok so we went to this so called 'PARK' called 'Ling nan yin xiang yuan' (I think) in Guangzhou. Another attraction that bro has been raving about. Bleahhhh. Took a cab there because we have no idea how to get there? But I think it's near 'Da Xue Cheng' metro if anyone is interested! Hahahaha. It's like a tang dynasty kinda park. And we spent like half a day there just to make our money worth because it costs a whopping 9 bucks! Lots of sight seeing inside for those who loves nature and parks. Took lotsa pictures inside! Went to 'Tian He Shi' after the park and it's sort of like paragon in Singapore. Dined in the shopping centre and went back to the hotel.

Spent the whole of the last day in 'Shang Xia Jiu'!! My favourite place!!! Went crazy and bought lots of stuff. Mostly bags because I can't wear those knitted stuff in spore. Yep and that sums up my whole trip. :)))

Guangzhou Day 3

It's day 3 in GZ!! We woke up for brunch at the restaurant below again. Ordered hairy crab because it's famous in GZ. Was a tad disappointed because it was very small? (but it was meant to be small lah) Hahahaha. We were getting used to the cold weather alr by the 3rd day and enjoying the breeze After that, bro took us to 'Shang Xia Jiu' for shopping. He had been raving about it since day 1 so there. Finally we went there. And thank god we went there! It was a huge shopping street with lotsa clothings at super cheap priceeeeesssss!!! There's a 'bugis street' at every corner of the street and I went completely wild there I swear. Clothes ranged from $4-$10 for normal clothing, and $20-30 for coats! But I really couldn't buy much because it's all winter wear?? Knitted stuff and leather jackets. >< What a waste. :( Spent the whole day there but still I couldn't finish my shopping.

Happy CNY eve ppl! Are ya'll all geared up for CNY?? Hee. I'm waiting for my relatives to arrive now! Hong Pao time!!!! :))) I did some last min cleaning and tidying up in my room today! Helped my mom with the cooking for later's reunion dinner, and did my nails too! Phew, what a constructive day! Finally managed to try out the long awaited leopard prints nails! Didn't turn out as nice as I expected but it's a good try I guess?

Guangzhou Day 2

My camera died halfway so most of the photos are from my brother's DSLR. We changed hotel the next day as our current hotel was seriously too shabby for anyone to live in! >< Travelled to 'Tanwei' via the metro to where our new hotel was located! It was still too early to check in so we had brunch at the Dim sum restaurant beside the hotel! The dim sum looked really good but didn't get to eat much as almost all the dim sums had prawns in it. :( The porridge there was heavenly i swear! (but maybe because the weather was cold)

Checked in the hotel after dinner! The hotel is called 'JIBANDAO' and is just situated beside the metro, which is very convenient for us! ^^ Went to the little village nearby after brunch to explore a bit. Don't know what is it called but we had a take a bus down. It was apparently the 'town' of that area! Lots of food and the place was good for people watching. Spent quite some time over there before taking the metro over to 'Wushan' for dinner! Bro had an attachment in the university there before so he knew his way around yay! Dins was good but I didn't take note of the shop name ahhh! >< There are alot of eateries there! Took the same line down to 'Chigang Pagoda'. Here is a short description of it which I got from google if anyone is interested? Hahahaha.

(Chigang Pagoda was built over four hundred years ago in 1619 during the time when Fengshui influences were pervasive. It is said the two towers were built at the mouth of the Pearl River to bring good luck to the Guangzhou city area. The tower is a octagonal shape tower and stands at 53.7 m. The floor has a diameter of 12.5 meters and the tower is made up of 9 exterior floor sections. Inside the tower, it consist of 17 layers which keeps the 9 sections together.)

Impressive huh. I'm glad that I managed to catch the 400 hundred years old tower live! Loitered around there for some photo taking! It was a breathtaking place, and the wind was blowing like nobody's business! I'm pretty sure that kids could get blown off if they did not hold on to their parents.

Guangzhou Day 1

The family head over to Guangzhou during the Christmas period last year. We cabbed down to airport at 4am for our 6am flight! So super zonked out and felt like zombies because of the lack of sleep. Anyways, we still managed to find our way and checked in successfully! Heeheehee. We slept through the flight like pigs.
Reached Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at about 11am and took the Metro to our hotel which was located at Guangzhou Railway Station! It's sort of like the 'City Hall' of Singapore and was buzzing with so much ppl! I forgot which hotel we stayed at but we only stayed there for a day because it has damn poor facilites!! Bleahhh. Went for lunch nearby after checking in and took a cab to 'Rubbish Street' as dad heard from his friend that there's good and cheap stuff there! It wasn't that far from the station actually. Prolly around 3km? There were really alot of stuff there! Mostly were non-authentic branded MEN shoes! And they're priced at around $4-$10?! There were only boots for ladies so I couldn't shop much. Alot of africans take their stocks from there and they can speak very fluent chinese. I am shocked. Even better than me lahhh!! #loserchinesegirl ><

Headed to Beijing Lu for dins by the road after shopping as we heard that there's alot of food there! There're alot of shopping centres and the clothes were pretty affordable! Just that they are all winter wear?? *pulls super sad face* Lotsa pretty and good quality leather jackets and trenchcoats but I can't possibly wear them in Singapore. So wasted RIGHT! Should have gone there during summer instead of winter. I can only look at the clothes and salivate at them. BOOOO. Went back to the hotel for an early night as shops closed around 10pm.

Hi all! This is gonna be my 2nd last post from last year! Can't wait to clear them all so I can start blogging with photos in 2012! This is taking forever!!! So Jamie and Poixin came back from Aussie and we decided to have a mini "DANCING" gathering but alot of them couldn't make it last min so it was just the 4 of us. AGAIN. Hahahaha. It was a night never to be forgotten, TRUELY! Too many dramas in 1 night to handle! Too many uncivilised, barbaric and wild girls around! The things they do just to get their way are just contemptible, DESPICABLE. Using such low-lying, underhand means to bully others!! Lucky we called the bouncers or idk what might happen alr! Getting so pissed just talking about them. But oh well, the night was really memorable and I know that my friends will definitely there for each other no matter what happenes. :))

A friend recommended HOB NOB when I asked where to eat in town,

so I decided to try it with melissa!

It's quite a cosy place situated on the 3rd level of far east shopping center.

The boss of the cafe was really friendly!

Both of us ordered ham and garlic aglio olio pasta. Hahahaha.

It was not that bad. :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS GUYS!!!!

I'M STILL ALIVE AND KICKING IF YOU'RE WONDERING!!! Sooooo lazy to update this space. I wish I could just speak and blogger would type everything out for me with pictures!! #ifonly

Anyways I just came back from Guangzhou with my family! We spent Christmas eve there together! It was good family bonding. Okay shall update about that another time. Hahahaha. Now, I have to update about my super overdued birthday week! My first birthday celebration was with hairy boy! He celebrated my 20th birthday a few days earlier because he has to book in on the day of my birthday! Boohoo. Nonetheless I enjoyed every moment of it! He brought me to the Artscience museum to look at the artifacts! But before heading there, we dropped by the singapore flyer to take some lovely pictures! I'm happy that we managed to spend so much quality time together before reservist! Doing all sorts of stupid and embarrassing stuff together and just laughing at how retarded we are. Not caring how strangers look at us in that weird way, and self timing wherever there's a dustbin. Hahahaha. Headed to Dempsey Hill for a nice fondue dinner after that. :)

Ok before I start, I need to clarify some things first! I believe most might think that I club alot, but I don't. It's just that everytime I party, I spam photos, plus the parties are all school events! SIM has 3 bashes and 1 pageant each sememster! And since i'm in the bash commitee, I have to reccee for good places for bash too. So yep. It's all work. Hahahaha. Ok so now i'll talk about the 2nd SIM bash on 241011. Due to some unforseen circumstances, our official bash was cancelled so we came up with an unofficial bash to avoid disappointment! Not much to elaborate on, so photos time! ^^

So many school events happening at this period. I HAVE NO TIME TO BLOG! Hahaha. Peeked at my blog stats and realised that a substantial amount of ppl are still reading this little space of mine. So I decide to forgo a bit of my sleep to update a bit! ^^ I'm not really gonna type much about the events, but just gonna spam pictures(as usual). Ok so the first major event which happened recently, was SRC day. I was in the organising committee, so we had to plan a whole day of exciting activities for the entire SRC! It was tiring but very fulfilling at the end of the day. :)

And the other event was foodhunt. I don't mean to brag, but I have to say this. My team is the CHAMPION OF FOODHUNT MANIA 2011!! WE WONNNNN!!!! Muahahahaha. We beat the other 24 teams and emerged FIRST! Hahahaha. The prize was $100 capitaland vouchers, $180 shilin vouchers, $100 mushroom cafe vouchers, $10 frolick vouchers, 5 scoops of ice cream, and 5 ZOUK FREE PASSES!! WE TOTALLY ROCK!

HAPPY HARI RAYA! What a long fulfilling weekend! Hahaha. Anyways i went for projects cohesion last sat at ECP. We were all split into teams and had to cycle all over ECP to complete stations which was part of the amazing race. It was a good workout but was super mega tiring. We had to cycle from the middle, to one end, then to the other end. My legs nearly broke lahh. Hahahaha. Collected lots of bruises and scratches but the day was still fun! :) After the cohesion, i met the bashies for a stayover at a boutique hotel! Shall upload photos on that another day! Till then! ^^

Met up with the bashies again for recce at ******! i had school before that so I wore clubbing outfit the whole day. >.< Met the bashies for dinner at marche after class before heading down to the club tgt. I felt that the club wasn't exactly student friendly but if it's a private event, I guess it's fine?? Hahahaha. It's projects chalet once again! It was a whole new concept from last year. I'm in Bash commitee this year by the way. Will be organising the upcoming UOL bash. It'll be on 24th Nov so keep it free ok? ^^ There was a drinking competition this year and also some outdoor games which I didn't attend because of work commitments. Overall it was fun although many things happened. Got to know the bashies better too. :) I just hope that u learn how to juggle your priorities now. Ok some photos!

Been delaying so many posts because of the Bangkok trip post! So many overdued photos I dont even know where to start! :S Shall post as I remember. Hee. I went to Sentosa with the Smurfs some time ago and we played frisbee and beach volleyball! The sun was burning us literally and the sand was too hot to step on. We were all burnt after playing. BANGKOK DAY 5 :(

It's finally the last of my BKK post! Are u guys relieved? Hahahaha. I AM!! It's such a chore trying to remember the names of the thai places and googling on how to spell them.(Not not that I hate it lah) Anywayssssss. I was really upset on the last day, because I haven't finished shopping and exploring the place, and we had to leaveeeeeee!!! BOOOO. :( I am so going to Bangkok again next year! Heehee.

We finally woke up on time for breakfast! Like on the last day??? Hahahaha. Breakfast wasn't bad at all! I love the damn awesome mushroom pasta! Went back up to sleep after that though! I can't believe we slept in every day in Bangkok. Sucha a waste of time right. But we were sooooo tired frm the walking. We woke up again around noon and went to explore Siam Paragon, Siam center and Siam Discovery! It's something like Tangs in Singapore so if you guys wanna get some branded goods, that is the place to go! I think it's slightly cheaper than Singapore. Naraya is really cheap there too! I wanted to buy a few bags back but we were so broke by then and had to stinge practically every penny we had. I brought $850 to spend there, and hairy boy brought $500. BUT it wasn't enough!! We are disgusting shopaholics! Hahaha.

Had cravings for mango sticky rice, so we went to MBK to have it after that! And we spent the rest of the day at MBK walking around because we didn't quite cover the place on the 3rd day. Saw a tepenyakki restaurant and decided to spend the rest of our fortune there. Hahaha. There were so many food places available! We were spoilt for choice. Both of us ordered steak and it was damn JUICY!!!!! It melted in my mouth literally can. Just thinking about it is making me salivate.

Left our hotel to the airport ard 4pm cause our flight was supposedly at 730pm. AND IT GOT FREAKING DELAYED BY 3HRS.=.= I had school at 830am the next day and I reached home super late because of that. Not only that, we could have spent 3 hrs more in the central area instead of being stuck in the airport. :( But we tried to make the best out of it and camwhorred at the airport! It was fun because we could do anything we want and never see them again!!! Hahaha.

BANGKOK DAY 4

DAY 4 of Bangkok with Hairy boy! Time passed really fast! The plan was to eat Dim Sum at Chinatown then head over to Sampeng Lane to shop, dine at a renowned green seafood restaurant with green uniform waiters, and head to Sapanpoot Market (Memorial Bridge Market)! Took a cab to chinatown as it was rather inaccessible. There were no trains nor buses nearby. :( But it wasn't that expensive lah. :) The Canton House caught our attention first so we decided to have lunch there! Food was pretty awesome but the service was bad because there were too many people! :(

Anyway, we finished out lunch quickly and headed over to Sampeng Lane, with some help of a nice local lady. :) Sampeng Lane wasn't at all what I expected though. It's kinda like a bigger version of arab street? Every shop was either selling cloth, or accessories! Rather disappointing as we allocated half a day to shop there. :( But those ppl who are looking for cheap cloth or wholesale of accessories, sampeng will be a good place to go. :) Changed plans and decided to have an early dinner before adding an additional tourist place to our agenda - Patpong night market! We actually managed to finish shopping at both night markets thoroughly before it closed! Sapanpoot and Patpong markets are really good for the guys. Stuff there are pocket friendly and of good quality. They are really good to go if you're with a group of guys and girls.:)

Patpong is actually a place where all the pubs and bars are. The alcohol there is really dirt cheap. Like $3 for a pint of beer? Hahaha. We didn't dare to drink there because we were afraid they'll spike our drink or smth. (yea we damn kia si, took alot of precautions cause only 2 of us!) Hahaha. Better be safe than sorry right! But I heard it's safe la. :)The Thai girls show was held there too. They claim it's free to watch, but once you sit down, it's considered you opened a table, and of course, you need to pay. So be careful if you are heading there.

BANGKOK DAY 3

Hello folks! It's Day 3 of our BKK trip, and we woke up slightly earlier than day 2. Still missed the breakfast buffet by the hotel cos we woke up at noon. =X The massage on day 2 was really good, we were spared from body aches even though we walked the whole day! First stop was Mah Boon Krong (MBK) for their Mango Sticky Rice. The center is 8 stories high packed with 2000+ shops! Explored the area a bit too. Most shops sell bags and misc stuff like watches and belts. We didnt't shop much there and went to Pratunam day market after lunch. Everything was from $4-$8? I just kept buying and buying! Not much guys clothin there though. =X But i spent the most on day 3. Pratunam supposedly closes at 6pm, but again, they started closing at 3pm. =.= So we headed over to Platinum(which is just across the road), and continued round 2 of shopping. My boy bought alot of things there! We had to get another luggage each to contain our buys at the eng of the day!

In my opinion, Platinum is better for guys and pratunam is better for ladies! Hahaha. Since Platinum closed quite early, we went back to put our buys and headed out for dinner at one of the restaurant downstairs. There were quite a few eateries so we chose the most crowded one. :) Food was AWESOME and CHEAP! *salivates at the thought of it* Had an early night after dinner as we were too lazy to leave the hotel alr.

It's Day 3 in BKK! And WE LOVE BANGKOK! Hahahaha.

BANGKOK DAY 2

It's Day 2 at Bangkok with my love! We woke up horrendously late - at 2pm! Hahaha. Missed our breakfast. :( Was too tired. Didn't manage to take much photos because we shopped the whole day! Hahaha. I didn't know how we manage to gather the energy to move. Plus we walked to Platinum Mall from our hotel. It's roughly 700m, a straight road down. Stayed there throughout before going for dinner at Somboondee Seafood Restaurant. Did some shopping at pratunam's night market, before going for Thai Massage nearby too. Pratunam night market is a pretty small market (smaller than Pratunam day market, which I'll talk about in day 3's post).

Anyway Platinum mall has 6 levels, and there are 2 buildings - 1 old, and 1 new. We only managed to walk through a part of level 4 (the so called 'men's level'), but there're ladies clothing too. The shops closed very early - ard 6.30pm, when supposedly, the mall is to close only at 8pm. I doubt 5 days are enough to finish combing the place. =X

Also, I stated that we ate at Somboondee Seafood just now right? I want to rant about the horrid and pricey seafood there! :( We heard that Somboon Seafood was good, so we asked the cab driver to send us there(near our hotel). The driver took us to freaking somboonDEE instead of SOMBOON????? !@#$%^&*&^$@% Jared and I happily took photos of the place and the fishes, only to find out the next day that we were brought to the wrong place!!! The food was not only bad, it was damn pricey too! It's about $35 each? It's not even that expensive in Singapore lah! But we thought that since it's a reknowned restaurant, the price would be high. Little did we know, it was an imitation! We got cheated damn badly, right smack on our faces. :( Somboon Seafood is something like Jumbo Seafood or No signboard Seafood in Singapore. SOOOO SUAYYYYY.

Talking about it pisses me off. Hairy boy says SOMBOONDEE is a vulgarity from now on. THUMBS UP. Okay pictures time.

BANGKOK DAY 1

For those are planning to go to Bangkok, I hope this post helps! :) It's only about day 1 of our trip, I'll post on the other days when I'm free! Went for a 5D4N trip with the hairy boy! And I believe this trip strengthened our relationship too. :) Had little silly arguments there but so glad we still made it in the end. :)

Okay. We headed to our hotel right after we landed at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 12 noon. Took the airport express right up to Phaya Thai, where our hotel is situated! We stayed in Bangkok City Hotel by the way! Checked in, nua-ed a bit and washed up before before taking the Bangkok Mass Transit(BTS) down 20mins to Chatuchak at Mo Chit station. We avoided taking taxi/ tuk tuk as we heard scary kidnapping stories about them. One of my friend's friend's female friend got abducted by a taxi driver and has yet to be found. It's been alr 1 month and she's only 20+ years old from SIM too!! =X

Alighted and followed the crowd who were all heading to chatuchak. Surprisingly we saw alot of Singaporeans there. There were alot of roadside stores selling yummy food!! We ate like crazy, we ate every moment I'm not kidding. We couldn't find much ladies clothing in Chatuchak, perhaps we didn't go to the correct lane. :((( But bf bought alot of clothes though. Guys clothes ranged from only 250-350 baht($10-$14) for shirts and berms. Ladies clothes ranged from 200-300baht($8-$12). I wouldn't really reccommand going there actually because it's really hot and stuffy (totally destroyed the mood to shop). Also, most shops sell 2nd hand stuff which we don't fancy. It opens at 8am and closes ard 6pm so do go down early! :D Oh and also, it only operates in the weekends so plan properly ok! :D

After Chatuchak, we decided to go to the night market opposite. I have no idea what was the place called cause it was an impromto decision and the store owners recommanded us to go there. The clothes there are way cheaper! $4-$6 for a top/dress! #gianpeng But it started raining heavy on our way there and most of the shops were only setting up after the rain subsided when we reached so i guess we missed out quite a bit. Took shelter with other locals under an overhead bridge. We were so pathetic I swear. The rain was sudden! No warning. :(

Hello folks!! Im back from BANGKOK! Shall post a few pictures of my event job before spamming the BKK photos ok. Worked at the swiss club oktober fest for 4 consecutive days before leaving! The pay was good! I earned a total of $700+ in such a short period!!:))) But the job was really tiring and we have to run around serving customers for 8hrs. The crowd was uber crazy too. The place was messy and chaotic, nevertheless it was fun! Because my dearest boy was working tgt with me. Hees. They gave us a few peuny bottles of jagermeisters and I made alot of new friends too!

NOMS NOMS! The foodies finally went for a picnic! There were alot of food! Sushi, chips, potato salad, cheesecake, cupcakes, egg mayo, french toasts, cornflakes with marshmellow! We had a great time eating and camwhorring! :D The guys bought a huge bee kite too! Hees. There are also alot of couples taking their wedding photos there as usual. I wouln't take it there if I were them. The scenery isn't exclusive anymore!! :/

Anyway Jared and I are planning on a 4D3N BKK trip just right before school starts!! I really hope it works out!! Any suggestions where to go?? So excited!!!

When Zeus hits Zouk! Kasim planned a Zeus outing for the GLs and GMs at Zouk. Note the pun. Haha. We drank at winebar and bought drinks from holiday inn too! Game of the night was 'GO BACK JUMP'. I can't believe we played that the whole night and was so entertained by it! Hahahaha. Didn't step into Zouk tho cause a few of us didn't manage to get stamps. Ok anyway, I met the Nines for Ice skating at Kallang Leisure park a few fews back! Rates are $17.20 for 2 hours (including skates). rather pricey but it's all worth it for fun! :) Anyway it's my second time skating there and we saw another OG frm SIM too.Small world indeed. Hees. We taught jinhui how to skate and decided her $17.20 was the most worth it! P.S. I secretly enjoy seeing how ppl fall. Damn bad I know! =X

The month of August passed super quickly. I started work at my new company as an admin assistant, and FOC was also during August. Nearly had no time to breathe. Many new groups of friends to hang out with(I hope they last tho). Today is my only off day, my only day to myself, and i'm gonna spend it with my bed. laptop, and chocolates, and family! :))) Here are some of the pictures from SIM FOC!! :D

Here are pictures of my first outings with my 2 ogs with hairy boy (overly-dued) The Nines headed for dinner at Lenas, followed by an impromto decision to a pub called Sauce at Esplanade! Lenas is under the same company as MOF and they serve really good food! The place is quite huge too, perfect for large og gatherings. :) Opened a bottle of vodka at Sauce and we managed to finish it, surpringly!!

The next day was the gathering of my second OG - Sixteens! We had dinner and a few drinks at timbre. Waited mega long for the live band to play but they only started ard 10:30? So we headed to KPO, which is just a few blocks down the road. Opened a bottle of vodka rasberry there! That was 2 solid days of drinking for us. But we were glad that the OG bonded. :)

Shal update about my Penang trip now! Spent 3 good solid days with grandma there. The cancer is spreading despite chopping a part of her flesh away. Mom said she looked better now than previously. Before going for radiotherapy, she sleeps the whole day but at least she's more active now. But I just hope that she gets well. All these problems just has to hit her at her age. She's alr 80 plus. :( Doctor said she has at most 5 years left. I only hope for the best now.

IT'S FINALLY FOD! I was sooo nervous and excited! We balloted, and Jared and I were OGLs for both days. So that means double the amount of new friends! Hahaha. We got OG 9 for day 1 and OG 16 for day 2. Both OGs are quite friendly. :) Up till now, notifications from both groups are still flooding my hotmail. Yay! :)

Bought a booth with Vivian for Flea Escape 7 at SCAPE! It was my first time having a booth there. The place was super stuffy but surprisingly the crowd was good. Manage to sell many of my blogshop clothes to lessen my losses. Dearest Jasmine visited me there too! And she brought me Gongcha. <333 Forgot to snap a photo with her tho. :( Jo-an and Maybelle popped by too. :) Saw many other friends there too, both vendors and shoppers. Bought a stall at SCAPE on 14th Aug again! Anyone who wanna join me, just drop me a text k. :)

Just came back from Flea Escape 7 at SCAPE. So frigging tired. But this post is way overdued. Shall sleep right after this.
I went to Desaru Fruit Farm in Johor with the family on 23rd aug, a week ago! The tour guide brought us to the Ostrich farm and also to watch fireflies! Weather was scorching but it was pretty fun I guess. Because we got to eat the whole day and there was durian spam! Hahahaha. But because of this trip, I missed an NDP preview. :( The last time I watched the parade was when I was P5?? So miserable. Hope I'll have more luck in the draw next year! Haha. Okay. I kinda forgot what happened at Johor alr, so I'll just spam pictures. Heh. Don't mind. :)
